KEZAD Free Zone - Dual License
KEZAD has come up with a new idea called the DUAL LICENSE system, which helps companies that work in free zones. Companies that work in KEZAD can get another license from the Mainland Department of Economic Development (DED), Abu Dhabi, with this system. There is no need for a UAE Local Service Agent or a local sponsor. These Free Zone companies with a dual license do not need to obtain an additional physical office or tenancy agreement from the mainland. Foreign company branches cannot obtain dual licenses.
By letting company owners in the KEZAD freezone access to non-freezone areas, KEZAD has instituted this special dual licensing system to help them. You have to first register a Freezone company using KEZAD to profit from this advantage. This freezone provides the cheapest package for obtaining a license in the UAE. After obtaining a Freezone license, the investor must obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC) in order to obtain an additional license from the mainland. In this system, the Free Zone License must be renewed before the mainland license is renewed each year.
